Placement at Columbus Technical College is multi-step process which may consist of evaluation of prior academic experience and/or assessment for postsecondary readiness of eligible applicants. Placement in programs and courses that are not competitive should be done with the assistance of an Academic Advisor.
Although theses are not required to be admitted to CTC, Academic Advisors may use a number of different variables to assess program placement. Some of the most commonly used measures are:
- High School GPA
- 2.0 for placement in degree, diploma, or certificate programs
- ACT Scores
- PSAT Scores
- SAT Scores
- Previous College Coursework
- Submission of an official transcript from one or more previously attended postsecondary institutions (accredited by an accepted accrediting agency) reflecting the successful completion of a minimum of 12 semester or 18 quarter credit hours of coursework at the post-secondary level or successful completion of a college level math and English course.
