Backflow Prevention
The Backflow Prevention course fulfills the classroom requirement for certification as a backflow assembly tester. Participants will review the basic concepts of hydraulics, and learn how to perform field test procedures, troubleshoot backflow prevention assemblies and study how backflow may occur under various circumstances. Course content also includes the different types of cross-connections along with the degrees of hazard associated with each.
Successful completion of this course prepares the participant to take the new Statewide Backflow Prevention Tester Certification exam.
Prerequisite: Prior experience in plumbing, irrigation, fire prevention, water distribution systems or a related area.

Backflow Recertification
This course fulfills the six-hour continuing education requirement to keep backflow certifications current. Recertification is required every three years.
