TCSG State Board
The State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is the governing board for the System and the individual technical colleges. The State Board shall provide overall policies for the management of the System and the individual Technical Colleges to ensure that the needs of the citizenry, business, and industry are met to the highest possible degree and in the most cost-effective and efficient manner. COLUMBUS TECHNICAL COLLEGE, LOCAL BOARD:
Columbus Technical College has a local advisory committee called the Local Board of Directors. This group assures that the TCSG State Board policies are implemented and provides supplemental guidance to ensure that the needs of the citizenry, business, and industry in the Columbus Technical College service area are met to the highest possible degree, and in the most cost effective and efficient manner, within the guidelines of the policies and goals and objectives of the TCSG State Board.

Note: Individuals or groups wishing to appear before the Local Board must make their request in writing to the President at least ten (10) days in advance of the meeting. The Chairperson at his or her discretion may approve the request and allot a reasonable time for presentation.
PROGRAM ADVISORY COMMITTEES: More than 200 employers invest their time as subject matter experts to assure Columbus Technical College’s academic programs of study produce graduates ready to work and/or ready to transfer to senior universities. The employers meet a minimum of two times per year to discuss such topics as curriculum, instructional technology, assessments, equipment, library resource needs, enrollment, retention, graduation, licensure/registries/certifications, job placement and/or transfers, college mission, vision, values, or other topics of interest. The employers may provide information regarding new technology in the workplace, job outlook, satisfaction with graduates, or other topics. Additional advisory boards exist to support non-teaching areas of the college including Library Services and Economic Development, to name a couple. These partnership keeps Columbus Technical College grounded, focused on our mission, and eager to have successful graduates, services, and programs.
